I visited Lifeline for the first time last Sunday and left with the cutest kitten! There were so many cats and kittens to choose from. Some of them were napping and others doing a bunch of talking. More active than the cats I saw at another shelter the day before. I spent a lot of time in the adult cat room because they were all so friendly and ready to play. But after losing my 16 year old dog back in May, I was ready to adopt a baby. I had passed by him a few times but didn’t want to bother him since he was sleeping. I finally asked to meet him and was put in a back room with a closed door and tons of toys. He quickly woke up to play and ran around the room. I was shocked by how brave he was. I knew he was the one for me after a few minutes. The adoption process was extremely easy. I even left with a new cat bed and collar. I was a bit worried about the transition into a new home but it was seamless. By day two he had completely made himself at home. He has definitely brought some new life into my home. Thank you Lifeline!

Lifeline is amazing! The workers there are truly dedicated to each animal that passes through their care. I adopted a cat from there a little over a year ago, and it was a great experience! I now participate in their kitty sleepover program to foster kittens short term, and the team is very supportive with supplies and suggestions! I would highly recommend visiting their cat cafe. Buy some chips and soda or coffee, have a seat inside, and enjoy having the older kittens and adult cats come up to you for pets and love! It's a great way to spend the afternoon. You may even find one to take home!

My childhood dog of 13 years passed away of old age January 25th 2025. It broke all of our hearts. It was very sudden and unexpected for us, I quickly became a full time aid for him. It was very difficult and still is. My family household will always be a pet family. There will never be a time where we don't have a pet in the house. I decided that it was okay for me to start looking for someone to bring home. I was very hesitant to which shelter I would go through as well as meeting a pet. Searching through resources I found a little puppy who was available for adoption and placed in a foster home through lifeline of Galveston county in Webster TX. I immediately sent in my application and within the next few hours on Saturday February 16th, I was contacted. Some kind people reached out to me with EXCELLENT communication. I was able to set up a meet with the pup the very next day! Sunday!! I was very skeptical about meeting the pup but the team at the shelter including the foster family were so warm and welcoming. We immediately fell in love with the pup we were meeting and decided within the few seconds of meeting him he would be coming home with us. My only concern was if I brought him home and he wasn't able to get along with the pets I have at home. The shelter offered me a week trial period which definitely helped even if I would never send an animal back to a shelter it was super nice knowing if needed I could. THANKFULLY I didn't have to and cheddar settled in perfectly. Since adopting cheddar , lifeline of Galveston county has reached out to me several times to check in, get updates on anything and to continually remind me that if I ever need anything I can always reach out to them. Thank you all again so much for everything Edit: I adopted cheddar in February 2025 and it's currently July 2025 and cheddar has adapted so well to our family. I'm so glad we were able to give him his furever home!

This is one of the best shelters I’ve been in, they take great care of their animals and I love supporting them any way that I can (usually fostering some kittens). I adopted my beautiful baby boy Robin from them in the summer of 2024 and he’s an amazing cat. He had an infection in his toe and they actually wouldn’t let me fully adopt him until they got it all figured out so I wouldn’t be stuck with the vet bills! Their adoption fees are very low and it’s so clear all they want is to give these animals loving homes. Not to mention because they keep most adult cats in a cat cafe he was very quick to love the cats I already had 🫶
