Can’t say enough good things about this shelter. The amount of volunteers they have speaks a lot to the community they have created. They have a lot of knowledgeable people ready to support you. We have really enjoyed going to the puppy socialization classes after adopting our dog. They are free and well structured. This is not shelter that is just trying to offload pets as quickly as possible they are invested in the long term success of the animals that fall into their care.

I can’t say enough good things about Friends For Life! Not only are they an amazing shelter but the level of support you get from them is incredible! Their support extends even after you adopt one of their fur babies. We had the pleasure of adopting Marie and she has brought so much joy to our family! They make the process so easy and affordable! If you’re looking for a furry friend, please consider them. It’s obvious how much they care, not only for the animals but for their community and families. Great organization all around! Thank you for everything!

We are so excited to have adopted Reilly from Friends For Life—it was a truly smooth, positive, and joyful experience. The adoption process was seamless, and the team was incredibly helpful every step of the way. They checked in regularly, answered all of our questions, and genuinely tried to support us in any way they could. Both the staff and pet volunteers were exceptionally friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and highly recommend Friends For Life to anyone considering adoption.

You go to these people to adopt a cat and they act like you are beneath them and their cats. I understand important questions but felt like I was being interrogated. I previously adopted my 2 year old cat from humane society when he was 2 months old and had zero problems. On the interview from friends for life they do different interviews on different days asking the same questions. They asked is my cat an outside/inside cat. I explained "He's an inside cat. The only time he's been outside is if I was in the "back yard" and didn't close the door better. Only happened a couple times in 2 years" (Mind you, our back is tiny about 7 ft by 7ft with a huge wood fence that you can't even see out of. He couldn't jump that fence if he tried. And I was right there and put him right back inside.) They emailed me back right after the interview saying I was denied to adopt a cat from them because I have "let my cat out before" Then they said "we will give you 12 reasons to not let your cat outside without leash or stroller." Ummm, I never did let my current cat out, and I never plan to without. They acted like I was some sort of irresponsible cat parent. In the interview we would be open even if a cat had medical problems! (I can already predict their reply will be a robot saying "We are strict and cats shouldn't be let outside without a leash etc.) I agree and NEVER said I would. They twisted my words. That's like someone agreeing with you, then you arguing and correcting them so you sound smart and better than thou. They are preventing animals to having a loving PERMANENT HOME. Then to make it worse THEY are the irresponsible ones. I will give 1 reason from more than 12 reasons why they are, if they approve of you to adopt their cat they send it with you unneutered and unspayed with a $200 deposit and then you get your $200 back if you bring proof that you took it to your vet and had it spayed or neutered. A cat is not a gucci bag to put a deposit. That's terrible to take a cat home and immediately have to give it an operation. And also if you take the cat home and it's not neutered or spayed it would be spraying all over your house. The sweet kitty that we were so wanting in our home is still un-adopted 🙁 Save the time wasted and headache from these people and go to a place that's responsible and sends you home with a cat that's already spayed or neutered, for a fee ofcourse, like Humane Society or SPCA, etc. And they appreciate you, not look down upon you.
